Location:
The municipality of Chiautla, is located in the southwestern part of the state of Puebla. Its geographical coordinates are the parallels 18º 07´48 "and 18º 09´42" of north latitude and the meridians 98º 21´00 "and 98º 48´06" of western longitude. Its limitations are: to the North it borders the municipality of Chietla and Izúcar de Matamoros, To the South it borders the municipality of Xicotlán, Chila de la Sal and Cohetzala, To the West it borders the municipality of Tehuitzingo and Axutla, Al Poniente borders the municipality from Huehuetlán El Chico and Cohetzala.
It has an area of 804.30 square kilometers that places it in the 1st. place with respect to the other municipalities of the state.
A great morphological diversity is located, since its territory is covered by 34 units, and a division between two units is presented. It presents two important mountainous formations: one to the north that culminates with the Tecorral, Grande and La loreta hills; and practically divides the Chiautla Valley from Matamoros. The second, to the southwest, indicates the beginning of the southern buttress of the transverse volcanic system, in addition the hills Huitlaloc, Toztle, Tequichihuitla and Zinacatlán are located. From the Atoyac River and to the east, still within the municipality, the Acatlán mountain range begins. Finally, the rest of the municipality is part of the Chiautla Valley, although only the surroundings of the municipal capital can be considered strictly flat; the rest are mountainous systems that reach levels greater than 200 meters above sea level.
Weather:
In the municipality two variants of hot climates and one of dry climate can be identified. Semi-dry very warm; It is presented to the south and southeast of the municipality along the banks of the Atoyac River.
Semi-warm subhumid with rains in summer; it is located in the mountainous formations of the north of the municipality, warm subhumid with rains in summer; It is located to the west, center, east and extreme southeast.

The festivities are celebrated with masses, prayers, flowers, processions, mechanical games, pyrotechnics, jaripeo, sports games and folk dance, music bands and dances.
November 2 day of the dead. The families place the traditional offerings where you can not miss the puff pastry, the dead (red sweet bread) and the pipian with bean tamales, in addition to the tastes of the deceased, and the pantheons are visited that early morning to watch the arrival of the dead. It is also usual to find on the street candles lit in the doors of houses that mean, a charity to the soul alone.
25th December, Christmas. The Birth of Jesus is remembered, in each house births are placed and small processions around the house are made, walking the image of the child Jesus, later some songs are made, and the accompanying bonuses are given according to the host house.
